Engagement Tracking¶
Social Marketing automatically syncs engagement metrics and comments from Facebook and Instagram for all published posts. You can also manually refresh data and reply to comments directly from Progrid.
Automatic Engagement Sync¶
A cron job runs every 15 minutes to sync engagement data from Meta’s APIs. The sync frequency varies based on post age:

Posts older than 30 days are no longer synced automatically.

Engagement sync can be enabled or disabled per company in . Comment syncing can also be toggled independently.
Engagement Metrics¶
The following metrics are tracked per publishing target:
Facebook Pages:
Likes, Reactions (with breakdown: like, love, wow, haha, sad, angry)
Comments count
Shares count
Reach (unique users who saw the post)
Impressions (total times the post was displayed)
Engaged users
Clicks
Instagram:
Likes
Comments count
Reach
Impressions
Saves
The post form aggregates these across all targets in the Engagement tab and in the stat buttons at the top.
Manually Refreshing Engagement¶
To refresh engagement data on demand:
Open a published post
Click the Refresh Engagement button in the header, or click the Refresh button on a specific target in the Engagement tab
Tip
You can also refresh from the post list: select multiple published posts and use the Refresh Engagement button.
Viewing Comments¶
Comments synced from Facebook and Instagram are accessible in two ways:
From a post:
Open the post form
Click the Comments stat button
From the main menu:
Navigate to
The comments list shows:
Author - Name or username of the commenter
Comment - The comment text
Platform - Facebook or Instagram
Posted - When the comment was posted
Likes - Number of likes on the comment
Replies - Number of reply comments
Ours - Whether the comment is a reply from your page/account
Comments are read-only – they are synced from the platforms and cannot be edited or deleted from within Progrid.
Filtering Comments¶
Use the search filters to find specific comments:
Facebook / Instagram - Filter by platform
Our Replies - Show only replies sent from your account
External Comments - Show only comments from other users
Top-Level Only - Hide threaded replies
Group by Target, Post, Platform, or Date for organized views.
Replying to Comments¶
Managers can reply to comments directly from Progrid:
Navigate to the comments list or open a specific comment
Click Reply on the comment row (only visible for external comments)
The Reply to Comment wizard opens showing:
The original comment author and text
The platform (Facebook or Instagram)
Type your reply in the Your Reply field
Click Send Reply
The reply is:
Posted to the platform via Meta’s API
Recorded locally as a child comment with the Our Reply flag set
Visible in the comment’s Replies section
Note
You can only reply to top-level comments from other users. You cannot reply to your own page’s comments through this interface.
Viewing Posts on the Platform¶
For any published target, click View (the external link icon) to open the post directly on Facebook or Instagram in a new browser tab.
This is useful for:
Verifying the post appears correctly on the platform
Accessing platform-native engagement tools
Sharing the direct post URL with colleagues
Published Posts View¶
Navigate to for a pre-filtered list of all successfully published posts. This view includes optional columns for Likes, Comments, and Reach that can be toggled on.
