Overview¶
Calendar Filters adds a tag-based filtering system to the Progrid Calendar. Users can filter their calendar view to show only events matching selected tags, save those filter combinations as reusable presets, and pin frequently used presets as quick-access buttons above the calendar.
Purpose¶
As teams schedule more events – meetings, calls, site visits, internal reviews – the calendar becomes crowded. Finding relevant events requires scrolling and scanning through everything. This module lets each user create personalized filters to focus on what matters to them.
For example:
A sales rep filters to show only “Site Visit” and “Discovery Call” events
A project manager filters to show only “Project Review” events
A support lead filters to show only “Customer Support” and “Training” events
Each user manages their own filter presets independently. Your presets do not affect other users’ calendar views.
Target Users¶
All Calendar Users¶
Anyone who uses the Progrid Calendar benefits from filtering. The module is especially useful for users who:
Have many events across different categories
Need to quickly switch between different calendar views
Want a focused default view when opening the calendar
Key Concepts¶
Filter Presets¶
A filter preset is a saved combination of selected tags. Each preset has:
Name – A descriptive label (e.g., “Sales Calls Only”, “All Client Events”)
Tags – The set of tags included in this filter
User – The user who owns the preset (presets are per-user)
Is Default – Whether this preset auto-applies when the calendar opens
Is Pinned – Whether this preset appears as a quick-access button
Presets are personal. Each user creates and manages their own presets, and they are not shared with other users.
Default Preset¶
Each user can designate one preset as their default. When the calendar view loads, the default preset’s filters are automatically applied. This means your calendar opens with your preferred filtered view every time.
Only one preset can be the default at a time. Setting a new default automatically unsets the previous one.
Tip
Set your most frequently used filter combination as the default to save time every day. You can always clear the filter or switch to a different preset manually.
Pinned Presets (Quick Filters)¶
Pinned presets appear as clickable buttons in the Quick Filters bar above the calendar. Instead of opening the filter panel and selecting a preset from a list, you can switch filters with a single click.
You can pin as many presets as you like. The buttons appear in the order the presets were created.
Example quick filter bar:
[Sales Calls][Site Visits][All Client Events][Show All]
Clicking a button applies that preset’s filter immediately. Clicking the currently active button deactivates it and shows all events.
